About MSNCB
The Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification Board (MSNCB) is a professional nonprofit organization that administers the Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN®) certification program. MSNCB promotes the highest standards of medical-surgical nursing practice through the development, implementation, and coordination of all aspects of certification for medical-surgical nurses.
A strong collaborative relationship exists between MSNCB and the Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses (AMSN). These two organizations partner to provide an array of programs and services for professional development. While MSNCB administers the CMSRN certification program, AMSN provides study resources for taking the exam and many programs that grant continuing nursing education contact hours needed for recertification.
MSNCB is led by a Board of Directors composed of five board members who are experienced medical-surgical nurses, a public member and the AMSN President who serves as an ex-officio member.
