Application Checklist
Before beginning your application for the exam, make sure you have the following information on hand:
- Last 4 digits of your Social Security Number (SSN)
- RN license number and Current Expiration Date
- Supervisor's Name and Contact information (phone or e-mail)
- Credit Card Information - Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express (number, expiration date, security code; billing address)
Examination Exemption
Nurses who are currently certified as a medical-surgical registered nurse through ANCC may be eligible for CMSRN certification via examination exemption.

Special Test Site Information and Application
MSNCB works with the Center for Nursing Education and Testing (C-NET®) to offer the CMSRN certification examination. The above link will redirect you to the Special Test Site section of the C-NET Web site. This section contains a list of frequently asked questions which explain the process of creating a temporary exam site, as well as room set-up guidelines and the Special Test Site application for submission to C-NET.

NOTE: All application fees include a non-refundable processing/administration fee of $75.00.
Retake Exams
For unsuccessful candidates, we offer a first-time retake discount of $75 off the registration fee, valid for 4 months after the exam date. A discount code will be sent via email to use to apply online or by mail and must be used by the stated deadline. The same application is used when applying for retakes. A candidate who does not pass the second or subsequent exams must complete a new application and pay the full fee.
