Volunteering on a Committee or Task Force

Volunteering for the Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification Board (MSNCB) is both personally rewarding and a prestigious addition to your own career advancement. We are not currently seeking new volunteers. Openings for these committees and short-term task forces will be announced by email and on this page when they become available.

Recertification Committee

The Recertification Committee is made up of nurses who attained the Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN®) certification who serve as application reviewers. This committee oversees the recertification process, reviews applications as needed, and performs required audits.

Test Development/Item Writing Committee

The Test Development/Item Writing Committee develops new questions for the CMSRN exam, and reviews current questions and test formats. This group works closely with representatives of Center for Nursing Education and Testing (C-NET), the testing agency.
